Oh, the weather outside is...

FRIGHTFUL. In every essence of the word.

Last night, we had a pleasant snow flurry. The snow became heavy for about ten minutes, and then calmed. Our land was left with a quarter inch covering on the ground which lasted overnight and into this afternoon.

I remember listening to the wind pick up while in my bed very early this morning. Now it's very bitterly cold outside. And the wind! The gusts are causing the trees to knock together and bend like grass blades in a gentle breeze.

And yes, funnily enough, the fire is delightful. We have our woodstove going (or the 'black box' as my dad calls it). Thank goodness for the great amount of wood in our side yard. We think it'll last us this winter and the next!

So I did take some pretty nice pictures of the snow last night! Though, some of them are a bit dark.

light them up starting on Thanksgiving night)
