Yesterday afternoon, I groomed Daisy and also rode her. I walked and trotted her for a while across the entire pasture. Abruptly, Daisy's trot turned very brisk. Before I could slow her down or even think about what she was going to do next, Daisy broke into a canter! It was the greatest feeling I've ever had riding! I went and asked Mrs. Flynn if I could canter Daisy some more and she said yes. I cantered Daisy for a long while. It felt amazing. So fast and smooth. Cantering is my favorite gait.
I rode Daisy for a good, long forty-five minutes. Then I walked her around to cool her down. When I took all her riding gear off, she was really sweaty where her saddle and girth had been. I brushed her until her coat was nearly dry. After thanking Mrs. Flynn, I left with my parents and Wynne.
Right before I left, Mrs. Flynn asked me if I would like to keep my riding helmet and boots there so that I wouldn't have to carry them every time I walked over. I was very nice of her to say that.
Again, God has blessed me a hundred times more. He is so good.
SO COOL to see you riding Daisy with growing confidence. I am so proud of you, Hon!
ReplyDeleteDEAR OLIVIA, YOU ARE FULFILLING ONE OF THE DREAMS I HAD WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE. ACTUALLY I HAD THREE GOALS--TO DRIVE A CAR- TO LEARN HOW TO DIVE AND TO RIDE A HORSE, AND NOT IN THAT ORDER. I DID LEARN TO DIVE AND ALWAYS LOVED SWIMMING AND I DID LEARN TO DRIVE, BUT I NEVER DID RIDE A HORSE....BUT TODAY HEARING HOW YOU WERE CANTERING, I FELT AS THOUGH IT WERE ME DOING IT WITH YOU. THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THAT. KEEP ON ENJOYING FOR BOTH OF US. LOVE YOU, GRAMMY
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Grammy! I'm so glad you commented!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could see me riding!
I REALLY miss you!!
