I'm not sure whether this was a dream I had once, or a children's picture book...
There was a girl who was ill most of her life and often had to stay in bed. Her room was very large and had an enormous window through which she could gaze at the stars at night.
Her friend, a boy, would come every now and then to see how she was doing. They would look out at the moon and stars together.
Then the boy told the girl, "I will bring you the moon, and you will be well again."
The girl believed him and smiled.
But for a long time after that night, she did not see the boy, and the moon had disappeared from the sky. In that time, girl became more and more unwell.
Then one night, just when the girl had begun to lose hope, the boy returned. And in his hands he held a glowing orb of silver and dust - it was the moon, the same size as it was seen in the sky.
The girl reached out in wonder to touch the moon, and instantly, she was well again.
(i paraphrased quite majorly to make it clearer to you. sometimes our thoughts seem clear enough when we think them, and then we go to try and explain it to someone, and they just stare at you blankly ;) i'm sure this story was a memory of a children's book, but i almost feel as if it was a dream, too.)
Kinda a random post, but I thought it might be something interesting for you to read.
I like that story. :)
