~ Staying up very late to type in my story - The King's Letter. My inspiration and ideas are always on fire in the dark of night...especially in the late spring, early fall, and mid-winter seasons.~ Walking to see Daisy and sitting on her back until after sunset. Once, I spotted a small group of deer gathered in the neighbor's yard while sitting on Daisy. They appeared...then disappeared quickly. When I'm on Daisy, nature isn't shy anymore. It's like sharing in the world of the wild, catching glimpses of things, and being closer to deer and birds than I ever can be alone.
~ Tagging along with my mom and brother on my dad's business trip to Rhode Island. Staying in a small hotel, eating rubbery eggs for breakfast, having dried mango fruit snacks, and going to see Nim's Island in the local theater.~ Taking my first Western riding lessons at a close-by stable. The first time I ever rode bareback was at the end of one of those lessons. At first, I remember feeling like I might slip off the side of the horse. My lesson horse was a sort of a pink-gray roan named Gilligan, but we called him Gilly.
~ Discovering the gorge down the paths in our back woods. Waterfalls, trails, huge rocks, ponds, and brooks. It's like a hidden world down there! Unfortunately, we aren't the only people who know about it. Lots of people hike around that area, but mostly on weekends.
And now spring of 2014...A dream of mine has been fulfilled: I now volunteer at an amazing horse stable! I had my first lesson yesterday. Paramount has a lovely gait, very smooth. I can't wait to see how he canters! Trotting and posting has always been a downfall of mine...I need more practice. I find the rhythm, but then it goes away and I bump painfully into the saddle. I'll make it work! Come on, muscles! My next lesson is in three days.
Two other things will happen to me this spring that will never occur again: I'm turning eighteen at the end of May, and also graduating from school at the same time. Apparently, my grades are pretty good. Sooo I could go to college if I wanted. What I hope God has planned for me this year...but could live without:
~ Digital art classes.~ A vacation to Colorado with my family.
~ Continued volunteering and riding at the stable...and maybe one day become a real worker there.
~ A steady job.
~ And I want to try recording my voice as I sing a song.
~ An answer to what I should write/type to bring Him glory.
What are some things you hope to do, starting this summer?
All your "adventures" sound great! :D
ReplyDeleteWell, I would really like to go to our church family camp this year. :)
And I hope I could train my horse more too.
Other than that, I don't really have many plans. (Besides of course, getting closer to God, and try to follow Him better!)
Oh, horse training! I'm hoping to go into horse gentling someday. But actually, just hanging out at the stable helps me learn more =)
ReplyDeleteYes ^_^ All we Believers strive to grow closer in our relationship with God!
Here's a verse my Dad gave me a while ago:
Philippians 1:6 - I am confident that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day when Christ Jesus returns.
=)
Oh, I like that verse too! :)
DeleteHere's one I just learned, and like:
Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.
(It's a good verse to know when faced with scary things like Riley!)
Another verse I really like is Psalm 37: 4-6. And it goes like this:
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
What are some more of your favorite verses? :)
I love the second one too!
DeleteWeellll...
I like James 1:2-3, Romans 2:15, 1 Corinthians 2:9, 1 Corinthians 10:31, 1 Corinthians 15:5....etc. I could go on and on...but that's enough for now ;)
