I am currently reading Ranger's Apprentice 11 - The Lost Stories.I love these books...they may be my favorite series ever. They're just so good. No magic, no inappropriate content...really, there's nothing questionable or negative in these books. Whatsoever.
Next, I'll start book 12 - The Royal Ranger. I'm really scared to read it though...'cause it takes place a while after one of my favorite characters dies. Why...? I don't understand why the author had to kill this amazing person. But maybe I'll figure it out when I finally read it. Who knows? Maybe there's a very very good reason behind the death.
I am also reading The Little White Horse. I had started to read this book when I was younger, but never got into it. I think it was during a stage of mine where I didn't finish books.
But I'm loving it now!
To add to that, I am just about finished with Dragon's Blood, a book I'm reading for school.
Right now, my computer is taking a very long time to load on a Nancy Drew game I plan to play. It's called Ransom of the Seven Ships and is set on a mysterious island. It's funny...my sister and I would usually play the summer Nancy games in winter and vice versa.
My little sister and I are a tiny bit more than halfway through The Final Storm (Door Within). I don't want it to end! What could I read to her after that? Still working on it.
I got my hair cut yesterday. I had been trying to grow it out for a while, but got sick of it. I think the lady took off about 2+ inches...it's a bit longer than shoulder length now and layered from my chin down. It feels very fresh and healthy now =)
I love watching my hair being cut. It looks almost fun to do.
I have been praying and waiting for Jesus to provide me with a good story to write.
I realized the other day that I had been trying to 'fit God in' to my stories, thinking that would be enough to help me finish. And that was so wrong of me. And I felt so ashamed.
But He has forgiven me. Indeed, He forgave me before I even came into existence, knowing I would make that bad choice and that it would soon come to Light.
Now, I have let go of the control of my story and have given it to Him. If God wants me to write a story, He will help me in His own time.
I want my story and every little idea about it to be from Him.
So I've stopped writing since that revelation, waiting on Jesus to help me.
I dream of writing and illustrating my own story.
But, as Psalm 127:1 says,
'Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.'
And Hebrews 3:4,
'For every house has a builder, but the One who built everything is God.'
Every story has a writer, but the One who wrote everything is God.
Keep that in mind =)
And for now, I will continue to write short stories on my other blog.
I suppose this blog is for books/book reviews, with little bits of my life in the posts. My other blog is for short stories...and then there's my drawing blog.
Don't ask me how I keep on top of three blogs. I just love to write.
Happy Sunday!

Ooh! *Claps hands together* I'm so glad you're reading "The Lost Stories" now!
ReplyDeleteHmm, after finishing reading 'The Final Storm' to Wynne maybe you could read her The Chronicles of Narnia? Though, it's sad in places I suppose.
Ah, Ransom of the Seven Ships! I own that one too. But I got stuck. I found a tutorial on how to solve it on youtube. It's quite helpful when I have no idea how to unlock things :P
I bet your hair looks beautiful! It takes a lot of courage to get it cut though. I love having long hair, but I have it up most of the time because it's always in the way!
I know what you mean with writing stories. I found out the hard way that it's best to have an outline before you start writing, that way you know where you're heading in the end.
I'm still working on my outline, I have a rough one now! Yay!
Short stories are so easy to write though, just by the inspiration of a picture, you create characters and...things? I don't really know what I'm trying to say...haha, but it's easier with picture inspiration... if that makes any sense :)
I know! I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteActually, Wynne has read a couple of those already! (Prince Caspian, Last Battle, Magician's Nephew) I've only read Magician's Nephew and Horse and His Boy.
Any other ideas?
Haha I love Ransom...it's a good one. I love going underwater and the whole Pirate-y background to it!
Yea, that's what I would do...have it constantly in a bun or braid (Elsa inspired ^_^)
Eep! I can't wait to hear or read more about your story! =D
It definitely makes sense! Some pictures just have a certain atmosphere that I want to bring to life with words...sometimes it's difficult, though...especially trying to give readers the same feeling you have, ya know?
Sending out your letter today! I forgot on Friday and Saturday =P
