Glide, Swirve, Race

Skating was not a big dream of hers, but she never tired of the giddy feeling in her heart when she put those skates on each winter.

She sat on a sled tightening her skates beside her brother. Having finished tying each skate's bow, she pushed off her brother's shoulder and struggled to keep her balance as she stood on the blades for the first time in a year.

The blue-gray ice wasn't smooth as glass, but she liked it that way. The occasional bumps and grooves kept her from slipping.

Sure, she wished so much that she knew how to do more on ice than just skate around in circles. But she knows her talents aren't found in skating, which isn't a big deal. It's just for the sheer enjoyment, and why not? Her King gave her her own special gifts and she wouldn't trade them for any others. No, not even being the world's most graceful teen figure skater. ;)

  1. I. LOVE. SKATING.
Like I'm not kidding. Every week I go skating at the public arena that just happens to be two minutes away from my house, and occasionally I skate at the skating rink in my school :).
    I'm a new follower!!! :)
